Lake Erie Senior Pictures in Northern Ohio
Hunter, a graduate of St. Wendelin High School, and her family have deep sentimental attachment to the shores of Lake Erie. Having spent a lot of time at her grandparents’ lake house growing up, it was an easy decision to shoot Hunter’s senior portrait session in the Port Clinton area. Our first location was a quick stop along the drive approaching the beach we chose to shoot at. This spot was ripe with rich autumn color and beautiful backlight.
Late Afternoon Beach Senior Portraits
After a quick change of clothing, we approached the beach area. Though the sun was sinking, it was still quite bright with all of the sand reflecting light. I turned Hunter with her back to the sun for this gorgeous series.
Closer to the water, we found some nice shade amongst the large boulders that hug the edge of the shore.
The wider expanse of the beach was brightly lit. Here, I wanted to capture Hunter enjoying familiar territory. Because we were shooting in the fall, the beaches were empty, save the seagulls. It was a peaceful scene.
As the sun sank further, we took a few moments to capture a short series of images paying tribute to Hunter’s school and sports involvement.
Sunset Senior Pictures in a Vineyard
After a final outfit change, we relocated to downtown Marblehead. One of the businesses there has a small vineyard in the rear that we were happy to take advantage of.
Moving further downtown, we found beautiful planter boxes and architectural features to shoot against. This location was a nice backdrop for Hunter’s dressier outfit choice.
Many thanks to Hunter and her mom Tammy for a fun session. We were able to shoot in locations that were new to me, which is always a treat!
