Sometimes my senior portrait sessions take me a little farther afield to locations I haven’t visited before. This is always an exciting, though admittedly anxiety provoking, opportunity for me, as I love shooting in new locations. My session with Morgan was a perfect example of this. Morgan is a recent graduate of Bryan High School. I have been to Bryan a time or two in the past, but never with my “photography-goggles” on. What a beautiful little town with a wonderful array of cool spots for portrait-making.
Morgan is, as you can see here, GORGEOUS, and we could have shot successfully just about anywhere. I’m so happy that we were able to capture her senior pictures on her home turf. I do feel that locations with personal significance are so much more meaningful when doing this type of portraiture.
Our first two sets were shot at a local church-turned-restaurant, Father John’s Brewing Company (I know, right???), a location that is popular with Bryan locals for a variety of reasons. Good food, live music, and beautifully-maintained grounds – what’s not to like? And, of course, it was a beautiful backdrop for our purposes.
An abandoned golf course was another great find for our next set. The taller grass and overgrown pathways made us feel like we were in the middle of a wild, windswept meadow (which, I suppose, we were!) The overcast skies gave beautiful light diffusion for a lovely, soft series of images.
A small local park gave us a little bit of architectural interest among brick walkways and stone walls.
Soccer Senior Pictures
Before we finished for the day, Morgan wanted to capture a short set of imagery featuring her love of soccer. We headed to her home field to wrap up our autumn senior pictures session.
A few short months later, Morgan came into the studio for a short series of images in an additional outfit, plus her track attire.
Snowy Winter Senior Pictures
We were fortunate enough to have had a small amount of snow fall that morning, so we ventured out to a local park for the grand finale.
Thanks so much to Morgan and her parents, Chad and Jodi, for choosing me to capture this pivotal time in your lives. I loved every minute of our time together, and wish Morgan well as she begins her college career.
