The images in this beach portraits set stir me. Not because they are of my daughter (ok maybe that’s part of the reason), but because of her innate ability to embrace the NOW and live it with everything she’s got. No, it was NOT the ideal day at the beach. It was cold, wet and windy. She didn’t care. She threw herself into it with wild abandon. Her towel was a cape and, with it, she flew over the water. There were castles to be built, moats to fill and seagulls to chase. It was – for her – a PERFECT day. I look at this set and take a lesson from it.

Find the joy in every situation.
Let your spirit fly on the wind.
Chase those seagulls.
LIVE in the moment.

As children, I think we all have this ability, but time and experience dull the vivid emotions and free spirits of youth.  Necessarily, I think, but plugging back into the joi de vivre of childhood from time to time helps us to remember what’s important. To leave each day in gratitude, embracing the simpler pleasure in life.
