This kid. I’ve been acquainted Alyssa for since she was a tween, but didn’t really get to know her until she joined me in the debut of my senior model program as my very first committed member of Team EIGHTEEN. I am so very thankful that she was a part of this effort, as throughout our year together, she has not only been an amazing asset to the Team, but has also become a cherished friend.
Let me take you on a short photographic tour of our year together:
Spring Senior Pictures
Our first team session was our spring intro set. During this session, I captured some individual shots of each girl, as well as a short series of them as a group. This is the beginning of four seasons of shooting documenting senior year.
Studio Senior Pictures
One of the perks of being a BLP Team member are opportunities like this. From time to time, I have projects that I need models for. This particular day, I needed several girls to come in for hair and makeup trials with my new HMUA professionals. For Team members who participate, it’s a nice way to capture different looks for a wider variety of images. Alyssa, in particular, finished the year with over 110 images in her final gallery to choose from.
Summer Senior Pictures at Maumee Bay State Park
Our next group session, by popular vote, was at the beach and surrounding areas of Maumee Bay State Park. Wind was a bit of a concern, so we captured a number of the individual shots in the shelter of some trees along the edges of the beach area. The group series was shot on the beach itself and its rocky shore.
Autumn Senior Pictures at Wildwood Metropark
Alyssa’s Signature senior portrait session was scheduled for fall, and we couldn’t have timed it better in terms of leaf color change and mild weather. Wildwood Metropark in Toledo was our first destination. The open fields were a riot of gorgeous color.
Up at the manor house, we found an array of beautiful backdrops to shoot against in Alyssa’s second outfit.
Our second destination for Alyssa’s personal senior portrait session was on the steps of the Toledo Museum of Art.
As a future Toledo Rocket, this seemed like a great location to capture a short series in her college sweatshirt! I love this fun set, as it shows the playful side of Alyssa’s personality.
Winter Senior Pictures in Downtown Toledo
In December, the members of Team EIGHTEEN were invited to join me in downtown Toledo for an urban mini-session. This area has such an amazing variety of locations to shoot against. Alyssa chose a tempered “rockabilly” styling, and I absolutely LOVE the outcome of this series!!
Cap and Gown Portraits
To wrap up our year together, we scheduled a date for family minis, cap and gown, and college shirt images. Here’s one of Alyssa’s cap and gown shots; have to admit, it made me a little teary. One of the things I love best about this program is the opportunity to spend time with my team members, getting to know them and their families on a more personal level. Alyssa is an incredible young woman, and I am SO PROUD of her accomplishments, and her determination to pursue her goals at the University of Toledo this fall. Best of luck, kiddo! I’ll be seeing you soon!
